Altogether 265 families, who encroached government land at Hatimuria and Hiloikhunda under Mayong revenue circle in Morigaon district, were evicted by the administration on 9th Novenber with all legal procedures. KMSS leader Akhil Gogoi was on Tuesday sent to 14 days judicial custody by the Kaliabor sub-division judicial magistrate court for allegedly instigating public during an eviction drive in Kaziranga on September leading to the death of two protesters during police firing.
