The arrest of 11 alleged ISI operatives by the Madhya Pradesh Anti Terrorist Squad on Thursday has come to bite the ruling BJP after allegations surfaced that one of the arrested operatives was a relative of a sitting BJP corporator.

The Congress has now alleged that Dhruv Saxena – another arrested operative – was the district coordinator of the party’s IT cell in Madhya Pradesh.Saxena was also seen attending an event that was addressed by state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Pictures of Saxena attending the event in saffron robes have gone viral on social media, – India Today reported.

Two of them are allegedly related with BJP, Dhruv Saxena is alleged to be a member of Bhartiya Janta Yuva Morcha and BJP IT cell team head. Meanwhile another accused Jitendra Thakur is believed to be brother-in-law of Gwalior BJP corporator.

The spy ring facilitated calls from and to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Nepal, bypassing legal channels. The accused have been charged with treason, violation of Telegraph act and others relevant acts, – The Irony of India reported.

BJP’s trouble doesn’t end there, another arrested man, Jitender Singh, kin of a sitting BJP corporators. The Congress alleged that he is also closely associated with Union Minister Narendra Tomar and MP Minister Maya Singh.

While the party officially denies any links between the arrested men and the party, a BJP leader in the condition of anonymity told India Today that they are concerned about the ISI’s possible infiltration into its ranks, – India Today reported.
